"'Dig Deep finish Strong' That is my mantra. As a coach I like to mix the spiritual side of things with the physical side of things. Endurance sports are just as much a mental game as it is a physical one. I like to live life with no regrets and no limits always pushing the envelope and always chasing my dreams and goals. You must believe in yourself and you must surround yourself with positive people who believe in you. I've been a runner since I was a kid. In high school I ran on my cross country and track teams. I've won races and my 4x800 team still holds the school record. At the age of 14 I ran my first half marathon in a time of 1:34:07 and that was my longest run to date. But then years passed and I did not train work took over and I played a lot of basketball and just did short 3-6 mile runs for my fitness. I also packed on the pounds during this time period. So in 2005 I started getting into cycling with friends just for fun and in 2006 I decided I wanted to do my first Triathlon and thus began the path I'm on now. I started training and learning my way around this multi sport and while doing so shedding the pounds. Over the next 6-8 months I shed 40 pounds and completed an Olympic distance Triathlon and then tackled a marathon in the fall. Since then I have been living the healthy way of life and training and racing like a mad man. I've run 10 marathons (4 of them Boston) I have a PR time of 2:41:55 in the marathon. I've completed a number of Olympic distance Triathlons and 70.3 (half Ironman distance) ones. 2011 was a great year for me in Triathlon as I was awarded "All American" honors by USA Triathlon as one of the top Triathlete s in my age group. I took 2nd place at Ironman 70.3 Steelhead and 2nd place at Hy-Vee Triathlon in Des Moines. I now have a 9 year old daughter who also competes in Triathlon and competed in the Iron Kids National Championships in 2011. She is also a 5k runner and most recently at the Get in Gear 5k she took 3rd in the 14 and under age group with a PR time of 25:45. So the multi sport lifestyle is strong in my family and I love to preach making it a family thing to people. This endurance sport community is a wonderful inspiring place and I have such a passion for it that I got into coaching a few years back so that I could share my knowledge and love for the various endurance sports with others. At the 2011 Boston marathon I coached 12 runners and they all got PR times in the marathon that day in Boston. I've taken brand new runners and helped them cross the finish line for their first 26.2 mile adventure. This is the stuff I live for!"Race Highlights: - 2011 MPLS Triathlon 2nd place Age group
