"I often get asked, "Why do you coach?" I know that people (myself included) spend years in jobs that pay the bills but that can make them physically sick: stress, sleeplessness, inactivity, and enclosed spaces. For many years, I was an accountant, moonlighted as a fitness instructor and did races. I missed my high school cross country days; the comaraderie of a team with the individuality of pushing your limits...."

My coaching philosophy is simple: Solid and frequent communication is at the base of every quality program. Developing a solid training program is about more than saying "Go longer and slower early, and taper late." The only way for a coach to help an athlete reach new heights, and to achieve what they once thought was impossible is through communication.
